About Investing & ETFs
Investing & ETFs is a plain-English guide to low-cost investing for people opening their first account.
What we publish
In-depth guides covering ETFs, index funds, account setup, dollar-cost averaging, and the arithmetic of compounding. Every article is written for someone who has never bought a fund, not for someone with a finance degree.
Each guide follows the same shape: a concrete opening, numbered steps you can act on, one honest comparison, and the risk nobody mentions. No theory for its own sake.
How we work
Original writing. Every article is written for this site and checked against public, verifiable references such as the SEC's Investor.gov.
Hedged numbers. Where we quote returns or fees we use ranges and words like typically and in most years. We never invent statistics, studies, or expert quotes.
Real photography. All images are licensed stock photographs, cropped to one consistent format. No AI-generated imagery.
No sponsored coverage. Advertisers do not select, edit, or approve our articles.
Who this site is for
Beginners. People who have money to invest and no idea which fund to buy first. If you want a system you can set up in an afternoon and maintain in five minutes a month, you are in the right place.
What this site is not
Not a brokerage, not an advisory service, and not a substitute for a licensed professional. We do not know your situation, and nothing here is personalized advice. The full disclaimer lives in our Terms of Use.
